🍔 Mountain Tavern & Après — JJ's Rocky Mountain Tavern
Located in East Village at the base of the Super Bee lift, JJ's Rocky Mountain Tavern is a cozy, classic mountain tavern and a great choice when you're looking for a hearty lunch or sit-down dinner. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, wood-fired pizza, fish & chips, smoked pork green chili, and other American favorites.

It's also a popular après-ski spot, with a full bar and live music on select days. If you're skiing the East Village side of the mountain, it's especially convenient — you can come right off Super Bee and head inside.

Located at the top of the American Eagle lift, Aerie is worth a stop for the views alone. The modern mountain lodge has huge windows and sweeping views of the Ten Mile and Gore ranges, making it a great place to warm up and refuel without heading back to the village.

Inside Aerie, Forage & Feast offers a more elevated, full-service dining experience — perfect when you want to trade the usual quick ski lunch for a sit-down meal, cocktails, and incredible mountain views.

🍔 Sunny Slopeside Lunch — T-Rex Grill
You'll find T-Rex Grill at the base of the Timberline Express lift, making it an easy ski-in/ski-out pit stop while exploring Copper's western terrain. Grab a burger, brat, hot dog, cold drink, or quick snack and head right back to the slopes.

The best part is "The Beach" — its outdoor area filled with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. On a bluebird Colorado day, this is a great place to soak up some sun and give your legs a break.

🍲 Hidden Mountain Stop — Flyer's
One of those fun little places you might ski right past if you don't know it's there! Flyer's is a small mountain shack near the top of the American Flyer lift, serving hot bowls of chili, simple mountain fare, beer, and drinks.

It's casual, cozy, and feels more like discovering a little on-mountain secret than stopping at a traditional resort restaurant.

Center Village

There's plenty to do at Copper even when you're not skiing or snowboarding — and some of our favorite activities are right outside your door in Center Village.

🎢 A Little Mountain Thrill — Rocky Mountain Coaster
Located in Center Village near the American Flyer lift, the Rocky Mountain Coaster is one of Copper's can't-miss activities. The coaster winds for 5,800 feet, drops 430 vertical feet, and can reach speeds up to 25 mph — and you control the speed of your cart. It operates in both winter and summer.

Kids must be at least 3 years old and 36 inches tall to ride. Tickets can sell out on busy days, so it's worth planning ahead.

⛸️ Skate in the Village — Ice Skating at West Lake
It doesn't get much more mountain-vacation than ice skating outdoors surrounded by snowy peaks. West Lake is right in Center Village, making this an easy activity to add after skiing, before dinner, or on a day when you want to stay off the slopes.

Use of the ice is free, with skate rentals available seasonally. Because this is outdoor mountain skating, opening and conditions are weather dependent.

🚡 See Copper From Above — Scenic Lift Rides
You don't have to ski to enjoy the views! American Eagle leaves right from Center Village and offers scenic access up the mountain during designated operating periods. In winter, Copper also sells foot-passenger tickets for American Eagle Gondola access, making this a great option for non-skiers who still want to experience being up on the mountain.

🛷 Free Snow Fun — Green Acres Play & Sledding Zone
Sometimes the simplest activities are the most fun. Green Acres Snow Play & Sledding Zone gives families a designated place to play in the snow and go sledding without buying a tubing ticket.

It's a free, bring-your-own-sled alternative to Copper's paid tubing experience and is especially fun for younger kids or for an easy afternoon in the snow. Just be sure to stay within the designated snow-play area — sledding isn't permitted elsewhere on Copper's ski terrain.

East Village

❄️ Snow Much Fun — Copper Mountain Tubing Hill
Take a break from skis and snowboards and fly down Copper's Tubing Hill, located in East Village behind Copper Station and just to the left of the Super Bee lift. The course features banked turns and designated tubing lanes, so all you have to do is grab your tube and enjoy the ride.

Tubing sessions are one hour and should be reserved online in advance — especially on weekends and holidays. Riders must be at least 36 inches tall and able to ride in their own tube.

From Center Village, just hop on the Copper Loop to East Village. Copper recommends arriving early so you have plenty of time to check in before your scheduled session.

🤸 Jump, Ride & Play — Woodward Copper Barn
Need a break from the snow — or have kids who somehow still have energy after skiing all day? The Woodward Barn is Copper's 19,400-square-foot indoor action-sports playground, packed with trampolines, skate and scooter zones, BMX features, a skate bowl, spring floor, tumble track, and indoor ski and snowboard training features.

It's a fun way for kids and teens to burn off some energy, work on new skills, or spend an afternoon indoors when the mountain weather isn't cooperating. Drop-in sessions are available for ages 7+, and Copper recommends booking ahead because walk-up space isn't guaranteed.

Taking a day off from skiing? You're in the perfect spot. From dog sledding and snowmobiling to sleigh rides and hot springs, there's plenty to explore beyond Copper.

Trade your skis for a snowmobile and experience Colorado from a whole new perspective with Vail Backcountry Adventures. Ride through snow-covered forests, open mountain terrain, and incredible Rocky Mountain scenery on a guided snowmobile adventure.

Yes, there's tubing at Copper — but Frisco gives you another option. Frisco Adventure Park has a lift-served tubing hill for an easy afternoon of snow fun.

Make an afternoon or evening out of a trip to Breckenridge. The Stephen C. West Ice Arena offers public skating indoors and outdoors seasonally, plus skate rentals.

It's farther from Copper than most activities in this guide, so think of this as a full-day adventure rather than a quick outing.

🍺 Make Your Own Frisco Après
Sometimes the best off-mountain activity isn't really an activity at all. Head into Frisco, walk Main Street, browse the shops, grab a coffee, find a brewery or cocktail, and stay for dinner.

It's close enough to Copper that you don't need to dedicate an entire day to it.

🚗 Approximately 1 hour–1 hour 15 minutes in normal driving conditions. EGE is much closer to Copper, although the drive crosses Vail Pass.

❄️ A Note About Mountain Travel

Welcome to Colorado — where the views are incredible and the weather sometimes has its own plans!

Travel times are estimates only. Snow, ice, accidents, road closures, and heavy ski-weekend traffic can significantly increase travel time on I-70. During winter storms, conditions along the mountain corridor can change quickly, and CDOT may implement traction restrictions or temporary safety closures.

If you're flying out of DEN or EGE, we recommend checking road conditions before leaving Copper and giving yourself plenty of extra time, particularly during winter weather, weekends, and holidays.

🏔️ Mountain tip: don't cut your airport drive too close! A beautiful sunny morning at Copper doesn't necessarily mean conditions are the same on Vail Pass, near the Eisenhower Tunnel, or closer to Denver.

Hi, and welcome to Slopeside at Center Village! We're so happy you're here.

We fell in love with Copper Mountain for all the reasons we hope you will — beautiful mountain views, days spent outside, cozy evenings in, and the chance to slow down and spend time together.

Slopeside isn't just a rental property to us — it's our family's mountain home. We wish we could be here all the time, but since life doesn't quite allow that, we love being able to share it with other families and guests when we're away.

We've tried to create the kind of place we want to come home to ourselves — comfortable, welcoming, and easy. A place where you can drop your bags, kick off your shoes, and settle in.

Whether you're here for first tracks on a powder day, a summer escape, a family vacation, or simply a few quiet days in the mountains, we hope you enjoy this home as much as we do.
